Rock-a-bye baby on the tree top,
When the wind blows the cradle will rock
When the bough bends the cradle will fall,
Down come cradle, baby and all.
Rock-a-bye, lullaby,
Bees in the clover,
Rock-a-bye, lullaby,
Bees in the clover.

Notes:
Collected from Mrs Oscar Allen (Ada Maddox), Lynchburg, Va., presumably by Maud Karpeles, as the author of the article which covers "a few gleanings from the Southern Appalachian Mountains, together with a short note on the collecting expedition that I made in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee in the fall of last year."

Notice the 'Bees in the clover' might be 7/8, not 6/8; alternatively one of the crochets might be a quaver. This ambiguity is in the original.
